Where to eat

Restaurants change hands, chefs come and go, bistros and brasseries get overhauled. Yesterday's great eaterie is today's missable event, and vice versa.

To keep up to date with where to eat and entertain corporately in the region, read Dining & Your Business.

It's out with the September 2008 issue of The Business Magazine - and it's free to our Thames Valley readers.

The publication will also be available for free download from our website.

There's still time to get your restaurant into this full-colour guide. Contact Kelly Baker on 0118-9745587 or email kelly@elcot.co.uk

More on Credit Crunch

Manufacturers in this area are saying there's no downturn.

99% of businesses surveyed by EEF South, the regional manufacturers' organisation, said they had a stable or growing order book, with demand overseas particularly healthy.

So that's one important sector not experiencing the crunch...so far.

Credit Crunch: real or not?

"We are going to ignore the Credit Crunch."
That's what one firm of business advisers told us this week, claiming that the Thames Valley was as busy as ever.
"There's no point in your head going down and thinking it's all doom and gloom," said this firm. "We are still going for it in a very positive way."

Contrast that to the views of another firm of advisers, who said, to paraphrase: "No-one's doing decent deals at the moment - and if they say they are, they're telling porkies. It's pretty quiet out there on the deal front, and there's every prospect of these choppy seas getting rougher - even into next year."

What's your view. Is the Credit Crunch biting. Post a blog and let us know...
